The auction of 76.802 surveyed acres between Metamora, Roanoke & Eurkea set a Woodford County farmland price record at $15,850 per acre according to Managing Broker and Auctioneer, David Klein. “Spirited bidding was seen from local farmers looking to expand their operation in this tightly held area. It was a rare opportunity to purchase a high quality, all tillable tract of land. Klein also serves as the Illinois Society of Professional Farm Managers and Rural Appraisers Chairman for Land Values and Lease Trends. “Looking back, we believe the previous farmland auction price record for Woodford County was set in August, 2014 for 80.96 acres at a price of $15,500 per acre.”, says Klein.

The auction wrapped up an exciting 10 days of farmland sales for the company, which auctioned 379.82 acres adjacent to this land on November 7th at an average price of $13,650/acre and 197.71 acre in Sangamon County on November 14th at an average price of $13,450/acre. Both of the larger acreage auctions had individual tracts bring in excess of $14,000/acre for Class A soils. The company’s next event will be November 28th with the auction of 305 acres between Elkhart & Mt. Pulaski in Logan County, Illinois, followed by 137.6 acres east of Toluca in Marshall County on November 29th .
