Central Illinois Farmland Auctions Bode Well For Soy Capital Ag Services

The farm management team at Soy Capital Ag Services has had a busy September marketing Central Illinois farm real estate. Soy Capital recently sold two tracts of farmland within McLean County and one tract in Kankakee County.  The first auction was held on September 11th in Danvers, Illinois for 72.49 acres of farmland and timber located south of Congerville, Illinois. This land was 82% tillable and sold for $8,200 per acre, or $10,024/tillable acre.  18% of the farm in timber and wetland The second auction was held on September 12, 2013 in Chebanse, Illinois. This particular sale included two separate tracts of land totaling 88.29 acres south of Kankakee, Illinois. The selling price of these two fields brought $8,157.17 per acre. The cooperating real estate brokers for this auction were Jaret Wicker, John Tammen, and Steve Jacob, all of the Bourbonnais branch. The third sale was held on September 17, 2013 in Stanford, Illinois.  Amy Russell and Chad Hoke, both farm managers and real estate brokers for the Bloomington branch worked to auction off this tract of 77.48 acres located between Bloomington and Stanford, Illinois consisting of class A cropland which was a highlight for the sale. This farm sold for $13,400 per acre. “This sale was quite successful. We were pleased with the number of interested parties and the land owners were happy with the end result,” stated Russell.  Soy Capital’s managing broker and auctioneer for these auctions was David Klein.
