Spring Plot Update

Spring Plot PictureIt has been a colder wetter spring than expected, making planting a challenge for some in our area.  We were fortunate to get in the field early, which allowed us to avoid a good deal of the rain and gave the plants an opportunity to root before the cold weather hit.  The in furrow starter plot in Heyworth, IL was the first to be planted on April 13th and we finished up with the Xtend soybean plot in Kankakee on May 17th

So far, the crop appears to be healthy and we look forward to the data that will be collected from these fields throughout the summer and fall.  There are several brand new products being tested this season and we are thankful for the partnerships we’ve developed with the seed companies that allow Soy Capital’s seed research program to collect such well-balanced, reliable data as we seek to make seed decisions for the 2018 season.

Below is a list of all of the Soy Capital plot locations this season, as well as the planting dates for each location.  If you have any questions about the testing methods, or would like to partner with Soy Capital’s research program in the future, please contact us.  We are always looking for new research and learning opportunities!
